Sagrado’s Futuro
Sagrado Futuro represents a long-term vision for a sustainable, culturally rooted, and ecologically responsible future in South Phoenix. It centers biodiversity, cultural memory, design empowerment, and regenerative community development—bringing together land, creativity, and collective wellbeing.
ALMANACER
ENTERPRISE, INCUBATION & COMMUNITY ACTIVATION
Almanacer functions as an incubator, marketplace, and gathering space—supporting startups in the food service and creative industries while activating the broader community.
Through partnerships with The Sagrado and South Central Mercado, entrepreneurs gain access to commercially sanctioned kitchen space, food safety certification, permit training, business coaching, legal and technical support, and website development resources. Creatives benefit from affordable studios, production tools, and onsite retail opportunities within the café and boutique space.
Beyond incubation, Almanacer blends commerce and culture through locally made food and beverages, art and merchandise sales, studio and conference room rentals, indoor/outdoor event hosting, and workshops ranging from cooking and printmaking to live music and film nights.
The goal is not simply tenancy—but preparation. Entrepreneurs are supported to grow beyond Almanacer and launch independent brick-and-mortar businesses of their own. Multiple streams of activity create a sustainable ecosystem designed to nourish both enterprise and community.

THE DAWN OF CONSCIOUS DEVELOPMENT
Almanacer on Southern is a community-rooted development initiative transforming a highly visible South Phoenix property into a space of nourishment, opportunity, and collective growth. An old liquor store providing alcoholic spirits will be reborn as ALMANACER—a healing space designed to uplift community spirits and nourish the body, mind, and soul.
The project centers conscious design—development that honors place, responds to community voice, and prioritizes cultural and economic sustainability. Shaped by lived realities in South Phoenix, Almanacer addresses limited access to commercial kitchen space for food entrepreneurs, lack of flexible creative workspaces, need for healthier food options, and the absence of welcoming “third spaces” where people can gather, work, and connect. Rather than a single-use building, Almanacer is conceived as a layered ecosystem.
Almanacer is a collaborative initiative of The Sagrado, South Central Mercado, and AG20 Investments. Together, we are transforming a historic property at Southern Avenue and 10th Street into a multi-functional community space rooted in economic empowerment, cultural vitality, and health.
WHY ALMANACER
South Phoenix has long faced environmental injustice, limited access to nutritious food, and a lack of infrastructure supporting local entrepreneurs. While development accelerates across the Valley, longtime residents often lack access to the tools and opportunities needed to participate and thrive.
Almanacer responds directly to these realities.
It creates a space where:
Local food entrepreneurs and creatives incubate their ventures
Multigenerational community members connect, heal, and inspire
Residents access nutritious food in a safe, welcoming environment
Development reflects community voice rather than displacement
This is conscious development—development that prioritizes community economics, education, and wellbeing.
WHAT LIVES INSIDE ALMANACER
Community Commercial Kitchen
A commercially sanctioned kitchen providing local bakers and chefs the tools and space to legally prepare food for sale, scale their businesses, and access food safety and entrepreneurship education. South Central Mercado will anchor and operate the kitchen.
Healthful Community Café
A welcoming café offering nutritious, affordable food and beverages made with locally sourced ingredients. Designed as a comfortable space with free WiFi, it invites residents to work, meet, and gather.
Creative Studios & Printing Space
Versatile artist studios and a printing studio provide affordable workspace and tools for artists and makers. Creatives can produce, showcase, and retail their work onsite.
Indoor/Outdoor “Third Space”
The café and courtyard function as a multigenerational third space—distinct from home or work—where community members convene, build relationships, and activate ideas. Programming may include art critiques, workshops, cooking classes, music events, herbal medicine lessons, and cultural gatherings.
A MODEL FOR CONSCIOUS DEVELOPMENT
Almanacer represents a new model of conscious development—one that prioritizes community economics, education, health, and cultural vitality. Anchored by The Sagrado, South Central Mercado, and AG20 Investments, the project brings together nonprofit leadership, social entrepreneurship, and local collaborators across construction, agriculture, coffee, fabrication, and technology.
This cross-sector partnership ensures that design, business development, and community impact move forward together. More than a renovation, Almanacer demonstrates how intentional collaboration can transform underutilized property into long-term opportunity—rooted in place, rooted in culture, and rooted in people.
BEYOND ALMANACER
While Almanacer advances conscious development through food systems and creative entrepreneurship, Sagrado Futuro expands the vision—supporting habitat restoration connected to the Rio Salado, addressing environmental heat impacts, and integrating ceremony, movement, art, and native food systems into long-term community design.
Ceremony • Meditation • Gallery • Design
Native Ecosystems • Performance • Cultural Renewal
Together, these initiatives imagine South Phoenix as a place where culture, land, and opportunity grow in harmony.
